[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he saying the early bird catches the worm, rings true this basketball season. The first 100 students at First Flight High School’s home basketball games will get into the games for free.
This basketball season Resort Realty has agreed to sponsor all Varsity home basketball games, paying for 100 tickets each game. Resort Realty has purchased Booster Club game tickets and the students will get punched in as they arrive, according to Randy Jones Resort’s top Sales agent.
A few of the home games will be sponsored by Project Purple, and students will have to wear purple to get into those games for free. Future Project Purple games are Currituck, Edenton, and Hertford County. In these games the first 100 students from any school will get into the game for free, instead of just First Flight students.
For the games that are not Project Purple students are asked to wear blue to show school spirit but aren’t required to be wearing blue to get into the game for free.
Basketball players on the team want to have as many students show up to the games as possible, having school spirit is extremely important to them.
“It’s sad when last year we had an average of 10 people at any one of our games,” Senior Ryan Jones said. “Having school spirit at a game is a big part of high school.”
