Members of the Dare County Schools Board of Education gathered on Sept. 1 for a special called meeting to discuss the rise in COVID-19 related cases. Board members discussed the possible ramifications of having students return to wearing masks while inside of Dare County School buildings. Halfway through the meeting, several attendants began to speak out, leading to the removal of three patrons and the voluntary exit of several more. In conclusion, the Board members voted 7-0 in favor of universal masking inside of all Dare County School buildings.
