The annual spring concert takes place at 6 p.m. Wednesday (May 8) in the David E. Oaksmith Auditorium. This free event features students in FFHS choirs, orchestra, concert band and jazz bands, so you don’t want to miss this great event!
Here’s what band director Bob Ebert had to say about his groups:
- Concert Band: “This is one of the most balanced concert bands in school history and we’ll display over 25 soloists across the band. This also is an exceptionally diverse program tonight with no easy songs. It’s safe to say it’s one of our most challenging concerts, and the kids are playing exceptionally well.”
- Introductory Jazz: “This is a solid group featuring students of all ability and experience levels. We’ve got everything from first-time musicians to kids who’ve been playing for seven years or more. They’ve come together this spring to form a solid band and have shown significant growth this semester.”
- Honors Jazz: “We’ll present the most difficult set list in this band’s history. For the first time ever, we’ll also feature a student who earned a place in the NC All State Jazz Band — Zane Fish. This is a very strong group that is always looking for new challenges and consistently exceeds the lofty expectations set by those who came before them.”
